When I turn on it, it starts to smell like a ****.

And it looks like disappearing soon... maybe I just feel so...

Is it because of something like mold or virus?

What should I do?

Yes, your ac can develop mold in the ducts that smells like crap. They make a disinfectant that you can use to get rid of it. It's more or less an industrial Lysol. I don't remember the name of it but you can probably ask in a part store.

Try a search on it. There was a post not to long ago about exactly what the product was and the procedure on where to spray the stuff.

Try Ozium in the ac inlets, worked for me

Where are the intakes? Is it the same as the intakes for the regular air? Right infront of the winshield?

On My 03 trac the main inlet is under the glove box and at the very front edge of the windshield (not the defroster vents)

Thanks for answers, guys...
But I still don't know what I should do.
When I had Camry last time, there was an a/c filter after removing the glove box.
But I can't find bolts or something in my truck's glove box.
can't find main intake, either...

I still need help...
help me...my wife really hates that smell...^^

Did you ever figure this out? I have it in my 99 - it started about a month ago. Smells like something died - Thanks

You have to spray something that kills mold and mildew, like "Lysol" (sp?) into the air vents outside with the A/C running. Do not spray it inside as it will melt the plastic clips and stuff on your vents. Anything that builds up moisture will soon get mold and mildew and Lysol is a very good spray just for that sort of thing. Hope that helps.

Thanks!

does anyone know if there is a filter for the A/C?

I think there has to be a filter. My 2002 Taurus had the same problem, so i took it in to Ford and they said they replaced the filter, but i dont know where it is. Mine has been fine ever since. I would assume that you are having the same problem.

not realy. I know my problem, I need a new compressor, but I do have a mold/musky smell and i'll bet its coming from a/c filter if there is such a thing.
