O/D light and bad tcc valve?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have all been great help in the past but I am having an interesting prob.. My 55E tranny overheated in OD coming up the 6000 ft mountain to our house. I had it towed and did a routine change on the fluid. still get the TCC assbly light after 5 mi.. Even with the light on, car does not go into limp mode. Shifting seems fine (lose about 500-1000 rpms) goes into fifth, drops if I hit the od button to 4th. Did a flush to check fluid circ. and was getting about a quart @ 10-15 seconds. Today took of the pan and filter for the third time and noticed the TCC valve ( if its the one on the drivers side front valve would spin as far as the harness would go. 180,000 mi and never a prob.. No noticeable chunks in the pan but TC dust and that seems to be OK. You guys are amazing at getting to the root. The car is well maintained hbut alot of up and down elevation driving. Obviously we're short money (wifes a teacher and laid off and I have a fatal brain disease, prayers good-pity bad since I know where I'm Goin'). Help. Also have kept up with cars despite the stuff they keep throwing at us.
