Ok first off i got bad vibrations starting at around 50 mph on the highway, im thinking its due to me excessive camber problem(which im discussing here). Not only does the steering wheel shake but so does the whole body of the car a little. But its worse around the street when every time i go over any type of bump, deformation, or watever on road. My whole cab shakes and it sometimes it feels like i drift but im not. And finally their is a dominant wierd noise i here every time the cab vibrates for whatever reason, it sounds like metal clanking or sumthing i cant describe it.
I have replaced upper and lower ball joints, my outer tie rods are still ok, and i recently replaced my left inner tie rod. i dont the think my passanger inner tie rod is the cause all of this. Could my hub assembly be crapped out? i cant think of anything else. overall my suspension feels loose. help haha.

im having the same problem as you. did you figure it out man. i replaced ball joints, tie rods, shocks, sway bar links, etc. it still shakes when i hit a bump .

could it be caster?

Glad to hear there are others with this problem... mine shakes when i hit a bump at some sort of angle... i was hoping ball joints would correct it..

well, my steering vibration went away after new inner tie rods. suspension still feels loose. im thinkin its my leaf springs and or bushings for the lower front control arms, ill keep updating on results

i just replaced my rear leafs with a pair of Soft ride springs from Carrier Custom suspension and boy what a difference. I found that my old stock springs were becoming bent and they were just shot. i did alot of offroadin. some of the excess rattle is now gone from uneven roads. so far so good, but still not to my satisfaction. i am now replace both lower front control arm bushings aswell as the kevlar torsion bar pad. i came across this thread and gave me alot of help. check it out. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25873

im going to follow suit and change my leafs and lcab's. let me know how it goes.

Same ol, same ol...

Hello folks, new to X-Forum here, but not new to forums in general.

I've recently aquired a 98 eX Sport, and lovin it... but...

I too have the annoying studder in the front end, just happened this morning, and found that the swaybar link snapped. I replaced the driver's side, and will be replacing the pass. side this weekend. And, I'm actually glad to know that there's much more to look for!

Great find Sika, on the torsion bar adjusters! I'll be doing that this weekend as well. And I found the 'B' bars interesting... and "affordable" - ok, next week.

Excellent info guys, thanx a ton!

well I had my upper and lower ball joints replaced and was driving it home on the highway and the front end started vibrating, well it was a very warped rotor, slapped on two new ones on the front and no more vibration.I read some were that ford rotors warp very easy from over tightening lugs and on even tightening.

Front end noise gone! finally! Most of the noise and clunkin was comeing from lower control arm bushings. replaced those with daystar pollys. also replaced torsion bars aswell as the kevlar pads. Also greased up my sway bar bushings. no more noise. ill show get pics of my new setup soon.
