What kind of life can you expect out of ball joints (upper and lower)? I had the lowers replaced at about 50,000miles, and I think that the uppers need to be replaced now (75,000mil).

That sound about right for OEM ball joints. I recomend replacing with a greaseable one such as Moog. You will get much longer life with them if you grease them regularly. I do mine at the oil change...

Are the OEM ball joints sealed and un-greaseable?

Thanks. Is it a good indicator that the upper ball joints need to be replaced if the inside tread blocks on the front tires are wearing faster than the outside, or would that just be camber alignment?

To checkt the BJ's, jack up the truck, grab the tire at 12 and 6 and pull and push it. It helps to have someone else do this while you look at the BJ's. If there is play, they are bad.

My expierence

On my old F-150 i had to replace the ball joints 2 times in the seven years i owned it. The upper left own i needed to replace 3 times cause it was never greased after i had replaced it. Its about 400 bucks and pending on the kind of driving you do they can last a long while. But if you have lift kits or larger wheels that can take them out faster.

I jacked it up today, and there was no play in the front wheels. I think/hope it just needs an alignment. Thanks for the help!
