I was at the shop earlier today to get my alignment done...and they said I needed new upper and lower ball joints.......just curious how difficult it would be assuming I have access to the right tools...91 5.5'' sus. sport

I just did mine. Its not that bad, hardest part is getting everything apart (spindles rusted on, balljoints froze in axle on one side). But with a torch to heat things up and a BFH it should go ok. If you've done bearings before thats most of the work.

It's not bad, just time consuming. Make sure you rent a ball joint press... and if you have an air compressor that would be a great help also. Basically just remove all brake hardwear, backing plate, spindle, and axle shaft. Then you can drop the steering knuckle and knock out the old joints, and then press in the new ones. One thing to make sure of it to mark your camber bushing's position (on upper ball joiint), so that when you reassemble you don;t throw off your camber a whole lot.

Hope this helps
Chris
