ball joint removal

hi guys
have come across the problem of having to remove my bottom ball joints on a 98 series 2 explorer 4wd . i dont really want to have to remove the wishbone if can get away with doing it in situ .does anyone no of a way to do this and what tool i.ll need to do the job

To remove the bottom ball joints all you need to do is remove the 'C' clip and hit them out with a hammer. To fit the new ones there is a press or use a piece of tube and the hammer again. To get at the joint you will need to remove the drive shaft nut in the hub (200lbs Torque), brake calliper, disc and hub, also be careful of the abs sensor.
