o.k. instead of trying to describe the problem i'm having now, how about if i do process of elimation.

What does a upper of lower ball joint sound like when it goes out? do they just fail or do they fail slowly?

94 explorer 4wd.

some noise in the front constantly when i drive. kinda like a creeking sound. Driverside front. I checked the radius arm bushing and that looks good. are there shock mounts on them?

the only think i can think of is a ball joint...maybe. I just is always got this creeking noise when i'm driving, but the shocks seem to be fine...only year and half old.

Puzzled here...any thoughs

Thanks everyone

Did u look at the sway bar bushings and end links?

yes, i bet that is it. Are those really hard to replace? I mean i can do most work myself, alternators brakes and stuff like that, but is this a pretty hard job. I can see those are worn pretty bad. hell i can gets parts really cheap i work at a parts store.

the sway bar links are those vertical rods, maybe 15" long in towards the front of the vehicle?

thanks for the input

I didn't replace mine, I just lube them when they get creaky.
