I removed the ball joints and tie rod end from my aluminum nuckle and the new parts seat to far into the nuckle to torque to spec. it appears the tapers may be damaged because when I tighten the castle nut I am past the cotter pin holes. I believe the nuckle needs replacing but it is expensive. Is this a common problem, the wheel was pretty loose before I did any work.
