bama chip? your thoughts about its and some more info?

what do you guys think, just ordered the mac air intake. btw i am new to this forum and it has definitely helped, found exactly what i was looking for in about 2 minutes. I have a '00 5.0 V8 XLT.definitley want to get chipped and an exhaust system soon. been reading some of the exhaust threads and i really like how alot of the exhausts you guys have. seems like alot of you like the dual 40 series and 2.5" striaght pipes or did i kinda get that wrong? what headers do you guys put in your 5.0 v8's? ok so now to the bama chip, is it simply plug and play what would i have to do/get after i order it. and the '00 5.0 v8 would need the x-calibur 2 system correct? so if you have this system can you tell me a little more about it, ease of use that kind of thing, id really like better fuel economy and more power. also i saw that most of you guys clean your maf sesor what do you clean it with? thx in advance for helpin a newb. first time ive really started to work on a domestic, usually work on imports.

I suggest you contact Doug of Bamachips. He programmed and sold me my X-cal II and since then it has been returned and resent. Great customer service from Doug.

Also, the best header is Torquemaster brand. You can also contact Bob about his product- also an excellent customer service vendor.

I just got Bama to re-burn my SCT flasher for my '99 Eddie Bauer with the 5.0. I love it. I also have a custom exhaust and intake. The tuning ties it all together. Don't get a chip. Go flasher instead. Less hassle with install and Doug can email you additional tunes for upload to the flasher if needed.

I agree with previous poster. He has awesome service and great attention to detail.

I wanted a performance exhaust without the noise. I've got 2.5" single pipe from the cats back and a SS tip. Muffler is a "Flo-Pro". Little known Canadian company with distribution in the US. I have a dual in/single out model and it's been great. Not too loud, but I'm reminded I have a V8 when I stomp on it.

Got it from a local shop. Not hard to find here because they're manufactured about 1.5 hours from this city I live in. In any event, they list authorized dealers on their website. Listing for NY is here.
