Any ideas to help minimize this?

I can grab the cd player and feel the bass more in it then i can from my mirrors, seats, or anything else in the front. I need some sort of cushion or somthing around the H/U but im worried about over heating or the huge nest of wires inside my dash being a problem with trying to secure it from vibrating.

Im using the stock H/U hole in the dash, with a dash mount kit.

turn down the bass...

no seriously, unless you desire to wear a hearing aid within 15 years.

if you really want loud bass, then either get an anti-skip cd player, play music through an ipod, or make a custom foam mount for your cd player.

There is a rubber matting you can buy. The name brand is dynamat but you can get it much cheeper from other makers. I do not know about the heat, however. Maybe you can drill a few holes through it before installing (?). Also the matting is a bit pricy but If you are only going around the H.U., it shouldn't be bad. That is the only thing I can think of.

*** If you can not find that stuff localy and do not want to buy off of the net, go to your local nursery and buy the FLEXIBLE rubber lining for ponds. This isn't as thick and it will not have the sticky glue on it but it will help if you find a way to get it to stay on.

You need a better CD player, and a better mounting system. If the specs in your sig are correct, you may NEVER keep one from skipping without completely isolating the thing, and enclosing it in some battleship plating.

throw away ur cd's and get an ipod and buy a ipod compatible head unit as a high end pioneer/alpine so u can control ur ipod from the radio instead of ur ipod and it will also keep it charged... trust me it wont skip, just make sure u r running enough power to the amp/amps... i used to do spl db drag racing...

Get a better Head Unit.

I went through a few before i found one that didnt skip on my system

Just like they said, it's the cd player. Apparently it doesn't have a very good anti skip built in. Most good cd players are suspended inside on rubber 'bushings' and read ahead of the disc (anyone remember putting a piece of paper or something in your portable cd player hinge switch so you can open the lid, take out the cd, and it still played until it ran out of what it saved? anyone? no? i was a weird kid? ok.. anyways..) so it won't skip and if it does vibrate too much it already has looked to see what is going to be played so when it sees the disc again it can start right back up again.

I never understood why people want everyone to hear their system. To me, it's much more important to have quality sound within the vehicle than it is to blast window rattling bass... which just makes people wonder why your vehicle is humming and rattling.

It's all a matter of priorities, I'm a bass head, not into building a sound quality vehicle yet, I'm sure I will soon. a lot of people leave the SPL world to do sound quality cause it's a lot trickier. Not saying SPL world isn't tricky, but ya know what I mean.

And as far as other hearing you, they shouldn't, cause people should be sound deadening there vehicles. I use eDead myself.
