haveing trouble with my battery its brand new and the right one for the explorer. its being drained slowly by something not sure what and idk how to test for what is draining it. i have 2 headrest dvd players but they are hooked into the radio so no power to them till the keys on and they are rarely used, i also have a remote starter and a PATS idk if any of this would be draining it so much that it wont start in the morning. i charge it up good for about 12 hours and its lasts for about 1-2 weeks without doing it again. sometimes longer just started doing it every 2 weeks now that its getting colder. anyone have any troubleshooting ideas? or maybe this has happened to u? thanks everyone in advance.
prob should mention its an 02 explorer lol.

someone must have some kinda idea how to diagnose this.

One way to do it is start pulling fuses until it stops draining the battery and then you will know what area to check. The only problem with this is it can take some time to locate the problem.

thanks thats a start for me at least lol gonna do that tomorrow after work. any idea how much drain the pats puts out?

would it still be an alternator even tho the bat light isnt on?

Very well could be, I dont know exactly what the specs are for the batt light to come on but it could just be outside of it. Since you are saying its a few days for the battery to die.

take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTGz0PKIl84 for his alternator test.

UPDATE: so i dont understand this. i went to Autozone and advance both say my alt is bad. i get home look up online how to check it myself and it comes back fine chargeing at 13 amps or so. now its been almost 2 months and no dead battery(knock on wood) lol i didnt do anything to the ex to make it not go dead. im thinking i might have something electrical inside thats going bad or something. not really sure my mechanic(father in law) is getting out of prison soon so ill have him look at it or something.
