I have a 95 explorer xlt that has developed a battery draining issue. Already replaced the battery and alternator. Thing is that when you disconnect the negative cable from the battery it stops whatever the issue is, and keeps the battery charged so it starts after reconnecting. Any ideas of what could be the overall issue. I'm learning as I go. TIA.

You will need to connect an ammeter gauge to the battery and pull the fuses one at a time until the gauge shows no current draw. You can buy the gauge with clips to connect to the battery

You can measure parasitic draw across the fuses "if" they are the originals or major brand instead of dubious chinese generics. So they have the right ohm rating for their specs.

There are various web resources to find this, like fuse drop vs current and fuse type. Meh, getting lazy, attached.

So yeah, something is causing the drain. Recently a member had the radio do that, but from what I recall, the most common cause is a failing battery saver relay, which is kind of ironic but it is what it is.
