My battery on my xlt as been having the above issue, were it is on or off when moving the alternator wires, but the battery is being charged even when it is on, from what I've checked there is no issue, but the light still persists, even a slight movement of the wire will change the light, I even bought a new battery after the old one kicked the bucket, still happens.

You’ve got a bad connection or wire. You’ll need to fix it, or live with it.

Happy New Year!

One wire runs to the cluster to indicate the charging system is working..................................if it has not been modified like what this forum is for.

I bought my exxplorer with some stuff like remote start and backup camera system that's wired into the battery, I was told that may be a reason so I thought I'd post it I this forum

Cool, one wire you wiggled goes to that instrument cluster. The remote start and back-up camera should not be an issue.
