Nick, after you installed your headers, did you have your explorer dynoed?

Not yet... havent had time... the only dyno I know of is back in Bakersfield, and I just moved to Fullerton. I go down every now and then to visit... so Ill do it next time. Also... I need to have them looked at... I think they are hitting something...

I'll believe it when someone actually has one

in their hands. I had much faster delivery time from TruckPerformance than 2 weeks.

BEWARE Flyguy

I read an article on the BBK super charger on a 4.L Ranger (As a matter-of-fact it was later featured by two sister Mags) and they claimed 40% increase in power and then another 30% with the added heeders and Mass. The first article posted the dyno results at only +30 HP! The other two Mags commented about Dyno runs but never poster the results. Beware! Even I (MR Negetive), was surprised by the LOW numbers. I can find a lot better things to spent $3000+ on.

Does anyone know what Explorer Express wants for the OHV engine? If the kit is only going to provide 30hp, its not worth the money. For that I spend $3,000 on a used sports car.

Hmm...its got to put our more than 30hp! Blah

I've been trying to dig up the article that published the dyno results, but I can't find it. In the article it said that in stock form the Ranger pulled approx. 110 HP at the rear wheels. After the install, it pulled less that 150HP (I'm thinking 140 but I'm not sure). So, even with only 30-40 HP, it still hit 30%+, but that is with the heeders and Mass included. They lead you to believe that your going to get 40% with the Super charger and and additional 27Hp-30HP with the heeders and Mass. If that's the case, the dyno numbers should have been around 160-170 HP.
I'll keep looking for that Mag!

Our OHV Explorers should put out at least 120hp rear wheel... I dont remember what mine was rated at.. I think it was 138hp or something like that.... but Ive gotten headers and a new computer chip since then...
