I had called Explorer Express earlier this about the BBK supercharger for the 4.0, they said it had not been released yet. I was just looking through the new issue of Truckin' magazine and they had a tech article where they put the BBK supercharger on a ranger. They said they liked it a lot. The 66mm throttle body added 7-10 horses and the BBK headers added 22 horses. Maybe I missed it, but they didn't say how many horses the supercharger added, all they said was the 4.0 was making the power of a 5.0. I think I might be investing in one as soon as I make enough money, $3,000 is a lot for an 18 year old kid!
I also have a question about the supercharger. Superchargers work by forcing more air/fuel into your engine, raising the compression. So the supercharger would eventually wear your engine out prematurly, right? I have is one more question. Has anyone thought about making a turbo kit? Turbos are more effiecint than superchargers because you use your exhaust to pump air instead of using a belt running off the crank (using horsepower to get horsepower). There is plenty of room for a turbo, you would have some trouble running the piping. Thanks for any imput.
