I just spoke with BBK and they said the the supercharger for the Explorer should be out within 1 to 2 weeks. Lets hope so. :) They also said it would come with its own computer chip and some sort of mod to adjust the boost. However they said other than that the chip doesnt do anything such as adjusting shift points like other chips... hmm

They have been telling everyone 1 to 2 weeks for months. I have been very interested in the setup but have been VERY fustrated with the answers. They have been having problems with detination and have blown a motor trying to get it right. There is a great article on it in the July issue of Truckin but the results were purposly?? left out. I have my fingers crossed that it will be out in the next month.
I have been working with John at ExplorerExpress who has been nothing but a great help in obtaining information from BBK. If anyone has any more info on the BBK story PLEASE pass it on.

Oh... I was all excited too. It sounds like a great product, except for the motor blowing up. What info have you obtained? They were somewhat brief with me. I just hope they dont abandon the project...

I don't know a whole heck of a lot, but I do know they have quite a bit invested to the project along with many articles and vendors who already have it advertised in thier catalog (Explorer Express for one). They claim to have overcome the detenation problem and are just waiting for parts to complete the kit. IMO if it was to happen soon they would have published the horsepower numbers in the Truckin' article, heck they had it on the Dyno, if you've got that far, what are you hiding? Did they have to back off the boost so far to keep from detinating that the gain was nullified? I really hope it meets what they say it will do since I will buy one once it's out. If you want more info, give John from Explorer Express a call 510-236-1220, He has been great to providing me with info and calling BBK to get the latest fibs.

Im kinda doubting myself that the BBK will give 80HP on a stock engine. It would be sweet if it did though! Well, I wish they would hurry up. Also, they said you have to use premium gas, but do you know of any other ways to get rid of the speed limiter (assuming the explorer have one, and if they do, whats it set at?), modify shift points and all that other good stuff aftermarket chips give you when using the supercharger? Hmm
