I'm in the middle of installing my new front hub assembly. I am putting the wheel back on, and noticed the studs come to the top of the lugs. Is it possible that the studs on the new hub are longer. Its an autozone brand. I would have gotten the timken, but i didnt have enough money in my account to buy it at the store, and I didn't have the time to wait to order from rock auto.

If anyone knows about the studs please tell me. I'd rather not find out that I messed up the hard way...

All thats left is that question, and the need for a deep well 32mm socket. The regular 32mm isn't deep enough. The socket kept slipping off the end, and I smashed my face off my fender before I got it torqued so I had to stop.

If anything I would expect the studs to be a longer since an aftermarket hub would be used on many vehicle applications which may have differing wheel width, but frankly that shouldn't matter at all for the standard tire iron unless they are sticking out well over 1/2 inch.

Thanks, that was the case. i double checked everything and its all good. Got the 32mm deep well axle socket and finished the job up. Wasn't too bad at all, besides me making bone head mistakes like jacking the car up before breaking the lugs loose, and again forgetting about the axle nut:rolleyes:
