WOW, 10000000 times better. I have always liked the monotone coloerd Explorers. Now get some rims on that thing.

damn, that looks awesome. super clean, im amazed. good work, and it looks better without the billet defintely.

A nice change. I like the EE airdam, good work.

looks so much cleaner. Thats what I love about mine.... no chrome but the wheels.... Great Job

Thanks everyone. I actually had a shop do it. I bought the front and rear bumpers already primed, and a factory original grille for a blue limited. The running boards, plastic trim, splashguards, and the little piece above the license plate in the rear painted as well. Everything came out good, except the little molding piece that the 99-01 explorers have on the rear came out a bit shinier and because the material is textured, is a tad off from the smoothness of everything else. I still have the door moldings that has a bit of chrome, and not sure if i want to remove it, but considering it.

I was saving up for rims, but i think that might have to wait till next spring. Im considering 20 inch cobra Rs, or the ones on my cardomain site. Im also considering wrapping the 20s with toyo proxies st 265/50/20. Does anyone foresee any rubbing? because these are a little bigger than 275/45/20 goodyears.

Ill try to get some better pics soon, but not owning a digicam makes it kidna hard. I also plan on doing a single muffler dual exit magnaflow setup, with 3 or 3.5 inch SS tips.. should i go 3 or 3.5 ?

Oh great, another good looking all-black X. (jealous) You guys are killing me!;)

Looks good!

But be careful, I hear NY just got a lot more strict on front license plates

kinda funny u mentioned that. I got a ticket today while my x was parked in brooklyn for not having a license plate.

The reason i never put it back on was because i think it looks better without it, but the reason it came off on the first place was because i was on the highway (LIE) any of you know, but i was following a van about 20 feet behind, when an old slashed tire from a truck flew from under the van and hit my front. No damage, except it ripped one of those plastic clips that the plate bracket is held on by. Rather than risk the other one falling off, i just removed the plate, then got new bumpers and it painted. I was gonna fab my own bracket, when i got to school, but with my luck, while it was parked, a cop gave me a ticket. I saw him writing it and ran to him, and pleaded, but all he said was talk to the judge. Well i already took pics of the broken clip, and with the whole bracket temporarily fixed onto my x. i already wrote my letter explaining what happened, and the photos to prove that its on now. Hopefully it'll be dropped, or itz $55.

I have it placed just below the bumper opening, just covering the EE airdam. Pics will come later.

That looks soooo nice. I am a sucker for Black Explorers...

It looks sweet! Chrome Cobras would do the trick. You also need to be on the list for the X-Spec Wing.

im considering cobras in chrome in 20's, but not sure. I called EE several times about the one prototype xspec wing, and i was told it was sold off to someone else. That person is really lucky to have it.. i would love to have the xspec wing.. any plans on production john?

looks one billion times better. wheels will top it off. gotta love all black.

20 inch gunmetal Cobra Rs would look

well pur pony said he could do the black chrome powdercoating awhile back. hmm, gets me thinking.

but does anyone see problems wtih rubbing if i go with 265/50/20? i want the toyos more than the good years

No you shouldn't have any rubbing problems with those tires.

Looks sweet man, so the bumbers were already primed? Did they use a special paint for the plastic? My dad has a Sport Trac and I'm trying to talk him into getting his plastic painted and I was just curious. But, looks good man.
