Before I replace sub amp, does this sound right?

I think my stock sub amp has crapped out. All of the sudden there is no sound at all coming out of the sub. (I have the premium JBL system) After testing I see that there is both a poz/neg wire going into the sub amp, but both wires comming out are neg/neg. Before I go try and to find a replacement, does this sound right to you guys? All other speakers work fine.

I can't see how that could be. I don't see how a speaker could work without the positive connection.
 






Exactly, that is why I think the sub amp is shot. Granted I am not that familiar with car audio wireing.
 






How did you decide that the sub amp's outputs are both negative? If you measured continuity to grounf, neither should conduct. hmmmm...
