Boy- I don't know what I would do if I didn't always have a problem with my Explorer! Anyway, I have been trying to figure out why my truck's left tie-rod end is maxed out. I think I have found the problem, but I need you guys help! I have the 4" Skyjacker suspension and I think the bracket's hole was drilled wrong. After using a plum line the new hole is actually to the left of where the original bracket hole was. I found this out by measuring on a stock 94. The left axle half is actually sitting too far in! What I need from you guys is anyone with any lift to take a photo of the front of your truck showing the drop down bracket and the pitman arm. If I am correct, if you have your tires pointing straight your pitman arn should be just to the left of the front axle fill plug and over the bulging ring gear diff cover. My pitman arm is sitting over the fill plug. Also, please measure from the inside sufaces of your spindle knuckles. It seems mine are shorter than stock because of this bracket. The reason I need you guys help is because Skyjacker wants me to prove that it is the wrong brakcet. I already in writing from the dealership that my truck's frame is straight and they think the bracket was made wrong to begin with. I need help so I can get a new bracket. Right now I am working off of the photo of Rick's rig on the RTI ramp. The only problem is that it's not sitting level and it's not straight on so there is a distortion problem there.
Thanks a million! The more photos I have the more I can prove it's the bracket.
