i'm reviving this because i am going to do this soon also. i wonder why no one posted before?
if you have personal experience with doing it yourself could you please tell me where you got the tint and if you would recommend getting the same stuff. thank you for your help.
I have Johnson and I like it. Never buy Gila, it's crap. I imagine the 3M tint would be good because 3M makes quality stuff, but I've never seen their tint.
I had my mustang done professionally with 3M tint and four of my friends followed my lead. I have since sold my Mustang but my friends tint has not turned purple like most other cheap tints and its been about 6 years now.
I have the ones they sell at Wal-Mart. They're pretty good tints!! They match 99% perfect because it's very hard to match the privacy tint on the pre-97 Explorers. You can find a few pics if you do some searching here.
