Ok, I have a couple of questions. I was curious as to where the best place would be for a set of BFG's. I am finally getting a set of 265/75R16's and just wanted to get some feedback. Was also curious about gearing, I have 3.73 right now, I'm figuring I should up grade. Thinking about 4.10, is this going to be my best option? Just wanted to get some thoughts. Thanks everyone!

NTB/Sears was cheaper than Discount, nicer than Discount and most anywhere you go there is either a Sears or a NTB to help you out.

I have 3.73 gearing and run 31's and I noticed a power loss right away, not much but noticeable in urf! and the MPG.

Get them at NTB, they rotate and remount broken beads free of charge.

We got our at Sears during the recall. In and out in about 1 hour. They didnt have any warranties because they said people tend to get out there and hot rod through the woods and tear them up, but screw it, they were free. I dont know anything about the other stores though.

They do have warranties, how do you think I get broken beads resealed for free? Dead Link Removed

Grant, They are feeding you a line. They may not carry a mileage warranty(NTB told me this), but there is still road hazard and defect warranty. Contact BFG and ask them directly if you don't think they are giving the straight poop.

Tim,
Go to NTB, and get the road hazard protection. That way no matter where you are, if you get a flat, blow out, or Tree through the side-wall, you can go to your nearest NTB or Sears and get it fixed/Replaced. from my experience the people at NTB are nice. Oh yeah I had to persuade the guy at NTB to put the 265's on the explorer. They think just because their computer doesn't say that they will fit, They won't fit. You might have some rubbing when you leave NTB with the new tires, but that is easily taken care of with a hacksaw. Like I said before, 4 BFG 265/75 R16's with road hazard, mounting and balancing, disposal of the Firestone's, and labor was $699.98. but WORTH Every Penny!

sears

I got mine at Sears for $102

I got my MT's at Merchant's. Probably not the absolute cheapest price, but the price they quote you includes everything (mounting, balancing, valvestem, checking alignement etc.) I can't stand being quoted what looks like a good deal and then being charged extra for the air they put in the tire LOL

Got my BFGs back in August at a local 4x4 shop called Outlaw Trucks. They were about $101.?? for 31 AT/KOs. Also included were the stems, road hazard warrenty, balancing etc... Probably best to shop around like tirerack.com / 4wheel mags / internet.

Good luck
