Did you try going to a library and checking them out to see what looks comfortable for you.

I did a search on a state wide library search engine and found a gold mind of stuff. A library a few miles away has a full blown section of Mitchell Books, domestic and imports going over 10 tears back room( both chassis and diag) They are also working on an online deal.
I found Mitchell to be very good (even better than Helm)
I think Haynes and Chilton are both good to have around but if you really have to get into something in detail, Mitchell's is great.

I agree with IgotTwo...you should check it out for yourself...
But i can make you a reccomendation. Check out the manual made by Chilton. Its really great. I would reccomend it to anyone. It pretty much has anything and everything you would need.
Good Luck!

i will pick up a chilton for sure, but if i needed to get really deep like a shop manual type book, you suggest mitchells? thanks for the help guy's.

i like the haynes manuals. the chiltons are a PITA. i also have one of those cdroms and it just has way too much stuff on it; it takes forever to find what i need. a haynes manual and some tinkering will get you a long way.

prior to yesterday, Ive never touched my car without screwing something up. A day of patience, and a haynes manual helped me out big time :)

I have a Haynes for my X. I've had both Chilton's and Haynes' manuals, and I prefer the Haynes'. I think it's written a little better, and is more accurate.

well i'll get them both then, theyre not that expensive.
