My '99 XLT is used mainly for some occasional boat pulling but mostly for highway travel. Stock shocks all around so far but need to be replaced. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I have a 98 Sport 4.0 SOHC, i use it to tow a boat quite often in the summer....

For towing you deffinetally want a good shock, but i get the assumption you dont like the stiff ride of off-road shocks.

I ASSUME any good shock would work fine, but my suggestion is rancho9000x shocks. I say that because everyone i have talked to speaks very highly of them. I bought them.

With those shocks you can adjust the stiffness. Put the rear shocks on setting #9 while you're towing for better respones; and them change them back to #1 or 2 when you're driving on the highway for a nice smooth ride. You can put those shocks in the rear and other shocks up front- i guess that'll suit your needs pretty well.

I bought mine from Hot-rodOffroad.com
They were $67 a piece.... came to $74 each after shipping to NJ.

Hope i helped!

BTW- VERY EASY to install yourself
