i am looking at the mud terrains and all terrains from BFG and pro comp. what is the best snow tire? my father uses my explorer whenever it snows because his car is RWD, and he is one of those people who wouldnt take off a day if we had 2 feet of snow!

The best overal snow tire i would have to say is the Blizzak made by Firestone. Way better then studded snow tires. If you want to know wich will be better between all terains or mud tires. It would be the all terains.

last night my mud terains where awesome! they didn't slip at all!

I can confirm that the blizzaks are AMAZING in the snow... my dad has a set on his RWD car (540i) and has never had a problem getting where he needs to be... we have a long steep winding driveway and he can get up it without a production whereas my AWD 5.0 spins all 4 most of the way.... for an idea

Oh yeah, handling and braking when there's 5 inches unplowed is about the same as the X is on rain-slicked roads...
