If I'm not looking at lifting, which would be the best tires for toughness and light off-roading? 31*10.5, 30*10.5, or 30*9.5? All Terrains? Goodyear? BFGoodrich? I need some advice, and my X is a 1st gen by the way.

If your not lifting i would probably think 31x10.5 and what tires you should get depend on what kind of off-roading your doing such as sand, mud...

i like BF goodrichs best tire for the price

Look into Coopers DISCOVERER S/T's...I use them on my Sport for winter and hunting season...Aggressive and quiet...

Gotta get out my soap box. :P

My next purchase will be 31x10.50 Pirelli Scorpion ATs.

My stock sized Scorps have been really awesome. They've lasted much longer than I thought they would. In Colorado, they really shined. I never had traction problems on wet or dry pavement, ice, snow, loose dirt, wet or dry rocks, and shallow mud. Totally LOVE those Scorps. The other thing is that the side walls are really really tough. I've got a couple of nasty 1/4 inch deep gouges that have never leaked, and I can't tell you how many times I've run the side walls up rocks and such with out problems.

I got a nail a while back and the tire looked a little pudgy, like maybe 10 pounds low. I checked the pressure and it didn't even register!! I was driving on a totally flat tire and didn't even feel it! (Maybe that's bad, but I was impressed.)

I never aired down on trails, because, at stock height, I need every bit of clearance. Even running 30 pounds those dudes climb rocks like nothing else.

Okay... I'm done. I'll put away my soap box now.
