I am lifting my 02' XLS and i want to put 31 inch tires on the stock wheels. Whats the best off-road tire i can get at a reasonable price that will give me great off road performance yet not give me any annoying road ?

BFG ATs are a pretty good tire for what you're looking for. Affordable, quiet on the road, capable off road, and they wear very well to boot.

Ding!!! We have a winner!!!

BFG A/T KO's are where it's at. There are definately cheaper tires out there, but if you can pay to play they are the gold standard.

Whatever you choose....just DON'T make it Bridgestone APT's....I had them on my X (stock size) and they were terribad.

For a larger tire that is under the 35" range, I can highly suggest the Nitto Terra Grappler as a great A/T tire that won't wear down quickly, practically zero road noise, and great trail and offroad performance. I run a set of 33's on my truck, and have been very happy with them. Over 10k miles on them and they still look new....

Anything 35"+ I would have different suggestions, including the BFG A/T KO which I had on my 10" lifted Chevy 1500 (35's) and they were an excellent tire. It's the stock tire that comes on the Hummer H2 (and H3 I believe)....overall great tire. Nitto's are easier on the wallet than the BFG, not to mention they have a much more aggressive tread pattern and sidewall.

I want to add that the BFG A/T KO tires....while great, are quite noisy.

i do agree with BFG A/T's, but if your really looking for a " cheap " set of A/T tires...

my suggestion would be General Grabber A/T's... basically an off brand of the BFG A/T's

Ive decided on the BFG's. I have no idea what size the tire i want is. All i know is that i want a 31 inch tire to run on the stock rims. What size should i order? What are the 3 dimensions. Would it be 265/75r16?

correct...

its really a 31.6'' tire...

perfect. I got the tires ordered along with spacers, a bull bar and lights, and today i just finished up the new stereo with two ten inch subs
