Best way to build a V8 for my 95 Ex?

I am looking to go whole hog with a V8 swap along with a SAS. I know what I am doing for the SAS but need to figure what to do for a build for the V8.

Should I just do a basic rebuild or focus on building for torque or??? I will be a bone yard motor. but not sure our of what, however I will try and get one from a 96-98(?) explorer for a GT40 motor.

I think the desired motor is a 97.5 - 2001 with gt40p heads. I've read that you want to get the whole vehicle if its a v6 - v8 so you get everything you need from one place.
