I just bought a 97 X V8 AWD with 69K miles for 6600 with an exhaust leak. Sounds like the passenger side manifold/gasket. Sounds familiar huh. I was curious if all the 5.0 explorer manifolds are direct swaps. I'm a bigger fan of cast iron rather than the tube type on there.

Whats the best (non performance) type of manifold to put on her. I know to use percy's aluminum gasket when I do it. But on ebay they list two types of mainfolds....a cast one and then the steel one.

Any thoughts?

Eric

Get percys gaskets with stage 8 locking bolts. I have the factory manifolds off my 00 if you want them

Also make sure you get some with or without the external EGR connection.

Sorry, but do I need ones with an external EGR connection or without? Will I know via the year....or do I just have to look and see (I'm at work right now).

How much do you want for your stock manifolds? Will they fit directly and match the stock exhaust point or will that require work?

thanks

just look of the pass side manifold and if there is a tube runnign off of it than your EGR is external. The manifolds I have are external. Send me a personal message with an offer for my manifolds if they are the ones you need
