so, my dad put her in for her MOT yesterday... failed miserably...

pads all round...
D/S/F CV boot split..
brake lines corroded...
bulbs...
upper control arm ball joint D/S

Anyhoo... I've gotta get some new pads and new front CV shafts....

Where should I get them from?

I ordered my CV's from Rockauto.com and all was well there, unless you prefer rebuilding the stockers vs. reman's

Dude you will only need the boot not the whole drive shaft.

the thing is, my dad will be doing the work on it, and it'll be easier for him to replace the shaft than the boot..

might be able to.... I'm not sure exactly what's going on yet... waiting for him to fax me the fail sheet..

Hi Si
Try looking for the 'sticky boot'. I've never used one myself. They are split on one side and then they glue together. You do it with the shaft in situ.
Kev.

The other option is your old man removes the drive shaft and buys a boot and then takes it to a friendly local mechanic and gets them to put the new boot on.

thanks... not sure what's gonna happen yet... I've gotta price up parts for my Dad.. he's got someone lined up to do the work once the parts arrive... stupid MOT tester...
