any plans of gettin it back on the dyno? i watch the dyno run at least once a week(oh, my wife hates what the troll has done to me.) i will not be satisfied until i get mine to run at least 5 seconds slower than troll in the 1/4!lol.
So I called the EE last week to ask about the brakes. They heve released the 2wd 13" brake kit for the front.
John from EE says that is based on a mid-90s corvette rotor and the Mustang Cobra caliper. He is going to e-mail me pics (that I will post), and fax over the instructions. Cost is $1500.
It aint' a 4-piston Brembo set up, but it's waaaaaaay better than the stock.
I will dyno it again and take it to the track when I can get some problems worked out with the fuel pump. I dynoed it a while back and it made 520 hp and 540 tq but that was with the stock intake and no NO2. I put the Victor 5.0 intake on and hope to go back to the dyno and spray it. I think it will make around 600 hp and 650 tq. Fot some reason the video capture program I use would not let me transfer over the last dyno run at 520 hp. With the new intake it really screams and ear plugs will be nessisary on the dyno.
Troll- ur a badass... I really love tellin all the S-10 owners and ricers that 600 bhp is possible in an explorer. I only wish i could prove it to them in person how fast it must be....Good stuff. Keep it up.
Hey Guys, I know that this thread was started a while ago, but I'm fairly new and searching the Forum for brake upgrades.
Those Brembo's are absolutely awesome *DROOL*, but anyone have any sources for other more economical big brake upgrades for the X? I know that there is a 13" Cobra upgrade kit, however I don't know where to find reliable places with good prices. Kinda weary about buying brakes from eBay, and don't have the pocketbook right now for a $1k+ brake upgrade.
My 1st thought was to put front and rear Brembo Sport Brake Kits (OEM diameter replacement slotted rotors with pads), and just treat and paint my stock calipers. Inside the new 18" wheels I put on, they will still look TOO SMALL!
