'94 ranger splash
well i have a 94 ranger but i have the explorer front end conversion on it, and i am looking at different types of billet grills.

there are some thata re auctioned on ebay, but i was looking at it and it is liek it is a bolton grill, and doesnt require any cutting, so that means that the vertical and horizontal bars in the grill opening would still be there (just behind it)

does anyone have a billet grill like this? i want to get one that has the least amount of exposed edges. i was really looking for something liek those of the f150 grill, where it is behind the grill shell.

does anyone have abillet grill like this? if so who made it and how much was it.

if you have any pictures of your billet grills i would like to see them since i am trying to get ideas and find one that i think would look nice on the front of my truck.

thanks

I have the first kind of grille you were talking about. Where the billet just clips onto the old grille. It looks and works great. I think I have a decent pic on my website in my signature.

ya, that might possibly be the similar grill.

how exactly does it clip in? and how are the exposed edges on it, or does it sit flush with the grill shell?

do you have a closeer pic if it installed other than the ones on the site that i saw?

It was a really simple install. You just remove the grille assembly and the billet clips onto the back lips of the old grille. It clips tighten down with screws and you just relocate the ford emblem. Mine had a kind of an inner bessel for the emblem to go in. So I had no choice put to put it in. But I know some of them are optional as far as the emblem goes. I'll go take a pic of the grille up close right now.

thanks
i like how that looks, and it looks kinda like the side bars are kinda bent back inward so it finishes off the grill.

the one i was looking at was a 25 bar grill, and from the pic they had to kinda try to illustrate the grill, it didnt have the emblem.

thanks again for the pics, that helps

I have the 25 bar grille on my truck. I got it off e-bay, IMO i think it looks good i have my ford emblem on it. I like it alot, but remember you get what you pay for. The grille has given me no problems and i like the look af the 25 bars, but it attatches to the stock grille with zip ties! and if your stock grille is grey i recommend you paint it black if you install any grille, i painted mine and it looks better behind there!

Anybody know if the eBay ones are the zip-ty or cutting types?

thats he one i got, it is zip tie! You keep your stock grille on there and just zip tie the grill onto the front of it. You can't see the zip ties as long as you use black ones and paint the stock grille black.. i had my stock grille grey for a while and it looked like poo, i had to paint it black. and the one i got feom ebay had too much curve to it, so i had to put 50lbs of weight on it for a few hours to 'flatten' it out a lil, i'll try to get pics by next week

section525... I really like that grille. I have a few questions....What brand is it? where did you get it and how do you open your hood? thanks

How do you open your hood?!

screwdriver

I was gonna get a billet from eBay like Yomie, but the fact that it was curved too much concerns me.....:(

Hey Guys..
I got my grille from Performance Products a few years ago.. but I was on their site last night and couldn't find them for my life. You might want to call them and ask what happened to em.

A screwdriver.. exactly. Or chop sticks work too.

lol, i don't usually carry chopsticks with me or in my truck. what really amazes me is how often people at auto shops can't figure out how to open my hood. it just proves that a lot of mechanics are incapable of thought.

Jiffy Lube is the worst! Everytime I go there I just watch and wait for the guy to look at me funny and asked how to open the hood. Thats where the chop sticks come in. I don't like those guys near my hood/grille with sharp objects like screwdrivers. Plus I don't mind losing the sticks.

that's exactly what i'm talking about. lol they just look at me like "ok i feel stupid, how do you do it" lol

i made a bracket for relocating the hoodlatch. it made this issue a lot easier.
