Bits and pieces of plastic.

Its really cool to see original owners on here. I wanted one bad when they came out, but i was 9 years old in '91. My dad thought the explorer was "small, expensive and inefficient. It would never take off". He bought a new Aerostar in 91. Ironically, when the van got totaled by my sister in 2005, he bought a 93 explorer XLT 2WD to replace it. We still have that one, among others.
My first one was a 91 or 92 5 speed with 2 WD. I bought it from a salesman that won it as a prize for selling more of whatever his company sold than anyone else in his company. I got a pretty good deal on it and kept it for about 3 years then sold it and ordered the one that I have now.

I think those plastic bits are pieces of a pedal bushing. As in brake, accelerator or clutch. I don't know about the clutch because I have a auto, but my pedals pivot off pins with black hard plastic bushings.

Or, it could be pieces of one of those large push pins Ford uses to secure insulation and carpet to the firewall.

I hope that it isn't a bushing. I don't feel anything unusual like binding or grinding with the 3 pedals. It is odd though for whatever it is to suddenly just start appearing on the floor.
