Hey all,
I own a 94 Explorer with several mods done to it.. Dead Link Removed My next mod will be adding larger tires and a suspension lift. My only problem is decideing on what to get.

I looked into a 5 1/2 inch Super Lift but it's too pricy. The installer wanted $2500 for it. Right now I can't decide what brand of 4 inch lift to go with. I don't know anyone who has a Black Diamond lift. I've heard they are really good on Jeeps but never heard of any explorers with them. My friend has his F250 very lifted with Trailmaster stabalizers and Superlift suspension lift and on top of that he has a performance body lift. Dead Link Removed All together only 7" of lift on 36's. It looks good. Much more than I'm looking for though.

I'm looking for an excellent quality lift that is 4 inch or possibly a combination of suspension and body lift 4" suspension and 2 inch body. I'd really like to ideally fit 33's under it but I dought that'll happen. I'd like to hear what you all think.

If anyone on here lives near Maryland and would like to go fourwheelin, contact me. I have 75 acres of mud... Even during this drought... I don't have very many spots to take people and I need notice but please contact me. I'd love to take a guest or two.

Happy muddin,

Joe

The 5.5" lift should be cheaper than the 4" by about $400. If it is not then you should be dealing with a more honest shop.

i was goin to get a 4" lift but saw that it was cheaper to go with a5.5" super lift from 4 wheel parts wholesalers for $649

I highly recommend a 4" lift from Tuff country. I researched them all and decided on this one because it's construction allows for a wide range of adjustments for front end aligment. Tuffcountry builds their dropped axle pivot brackets with an eccentric adjustment on the pivot point. The shop that did my alignment recommeded this brand as they have never had alignment problems with Fords using this company's kits. After I did the install on mine, I took it to the same shop for the alignment.
It was over in 33 minutes ( I timed it just for the heck of it). It was aligned to the very middle of the factory specs, with just three minor adjustments. It drives great.
The only thing I wished I had done was go with new rear springs, not the add-a-leaf.
They run ads in all the 4wd drive mags.
Hint: if you live in the Northwest, they will suggest you buy from a Les Schwab Tire Center. When I told them that I could buy it cheaper from them (even paying the shipping charges) they agreed to sell me direct.

I have a 91 EB 4door, can I get a lift for this thing? Also, what more will I end up doing for hidden mods? Explorerman, you say we should tell the folks a tuff country we can get it cheaper a Les Schwab or vise-versa? Thanks for the help! Take care and God Bless.

Where do you live/go 4wheeling in maryland?

I live in Northern VA and may be interested.

Thanks,

Joe,

I live in So. Md. (South of Waldorf)

I recently purchased a 94 Explorer and am DYING to find a place to take it. This past weekend I went running through the mud, and was impressed with what the Explorer can do stock. My e-mail address is leskiles@starpower.net. Let me know if you want to do anything this weekend.

Thanks,

Lance
