Here are some pics of Blackfire 2 on my 5.9 Limited. The truck was detailed as follows:

Dawn Washed
Zaino Clay
3M Perfect-it III Machine Glaze w/Porter Cable polisher
P21S GEPC w/Porter Cable
1X BF Polish
2X BF All Finish Paint Protection
Clear Kote Quik Shine QD

I have some Clear Kote Vanilla Moose (will be used in place of P21S GEPC) and Poorboy's EX (will be used in place of Blackfire) on order. Hopefully they will be here by this weekend. :)

The Blackfire is not supposed to produce a blinding shine like, say, Zaino. I was going for more of a deep, liquid look. One of the reasons that the hood looks a little hazy is because DC paint sucks. There's so much orange peel it's not funny. I'd really need to wetsand it. That being said though, the picture does make it look more hazy than it actually is.

Thats what I was going to post too, you can only do so much with what the carmaker gives you as paint. I'd definately reccomend a light wetsand, it'd do wonders.

Bearutiful truck Mike, I was sorry to hear it had been damaged. Looks great now!

Yeah, I've been contemplating wetsanding the hood. We'll see if I have the b**** to do it! Another thing is that the paint is not actually black, but a very dark metallic gray (called Deep Slate). It won't look quite as shiny/deep as a pure black would.

Thats a really sharp color, one of my favorites. I also like Benz's metallic black.

You could always hire a pro to wetsand the hood, wouldn't cost much. Thats what I'd do.

Mike, Looks really good.
Got a PC last weekend & pads from Classic. Tomoorrow I'm going after the X. Will post a pic Mon., I hope.
Later...
