Blend door actuator question

I have a 98 explorer v6 4.0 sohc. Was reading up on blend door actuator and think it might be the issue I'm having. I have either hot air or cold air. No temp control at all. On max ac, it cools no prob. On reg ac it blows hot. But on all the other settings, it seems to work how it should minus the temp control. The only setting I get cold air on is max ac tho. Wanting to figure this out as I have 3 kids riding with me most of the time. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to this forum! The blend door controls the change from A/C to heat and vise versa. Do you have a digital climate control or the regular manual control?

Manual. Just an old fashioned turn knob. Replaced the control panel. But it didn't do anything. Don't know where to go next

Nt sure exactly what is going on tho. I only have cold air on Max ac. Any other setting is hot air. Reg ac is hot air also!?!
