hey all

Names Michael. I was in a parking lot today and the engine backfired. Blew off a bunch of vac lines. Now I’m trying to put them all back together and can’t find one. Also can’t find it in my diagram. But it’s definitely leaking from there, I can hear hissing and if I put my thumb against it there’s suction and the engine runs smoother. Pic attached. Anyone know where to look for the line I’m missing?

It may have been blocked off with a rubber cap. It probably went shooting off of there when it backfired.

Where could I get a replacement rubber cap? I ended up shoving a piece of rubber in there to get it out of the parking lot I was in and everything seems to be functioning as intended so far (knock on wood)

The fittings on the rest of the lines are all soft and squishy too so I’m wondering if there was a rubber plug there if it was the same kind of worn out. Looks like some new vac lines are in order regardless

Not all fittings have hoses, probably dependent on what options any particular model has.
I have several caps on my tree.parts stores will have replacement caps in the Help section.
I’ve used a tiny piece of duct tape and a zip tie before, whatever blocks airflow will work.

Here's mine off of my 94 Explorer Limited. Hope it helps!
