I was making an adjustment to my bumper yesterday when I noticed the BRAND NEW swaybar endlink bushings and bolt was missing from my passenger side. I was shocked.  :banghead:

Can anyone tell my why this might happen??? And yes they were tight torqued to specs when installed. I will get a pic of what I found up in a few minutes once I find my pants.

was it too short and the suspention flexed and broke the bolt?

too short??? Heck I don't know. All I did was replace the bushings. Well not quite all, I did install some f-150 spacers and 1.5" lift coils. But I didn't think that could overstress the endlink. The other side is just fine.

And it has only seen highway driving.

Did you take a corner too fast and blow the link? My brothers TransAM did this all the time to only one side...I guess he had a sharp right turn he hit alot and he blew it.. Like you he didn't know it was busted until he was working on it.

Was your "X" one of those included with the recall for the sway bar end links? Seems that Ford put in skinny bolts that became brittle when exposed to extreme cold weather and snapped. New parts are a lot more heftier.
