Recently i blew an intake Gasket, i was about 20 miles form the nearest town, so had no choice but to nurse it up there. i was going through about a gallon of coolant about every 8 miles, and the temp guage did get up there, but never in the danger zone. the outside air temp was arounr -5 so i though i may be o.k. just nurse up there until i could get it fixed.

I'm wondering if i could have caused any major problems to the heads, but letting it get a little hot like that. and not towing it the rest of the way. I did pull over every 8 miles or so and dump more in to keep it cool. I'm just real parenoid. thanks for the help:confused:

As long as your not blowing lots of smoke and it runs normally after you get the intake fixed, you should be OK. You can try doing a compression test (I think that would show if things are OK, but I'm not a mechanic) Other than tearing it down, those are the only ways I know of to find out.
