I recently replaced the water pump and a freeze plug in my 92 4x4 xlt and the next day I drove it for an hour on the interstate. When I arrived at my destination I found my reverse was not working. Later I heard the gasket blow out on my trans, and shortly there after, my forward gears stopped. The water pump is bent and vibrates, off by maybe an 8th of an inch. It runs warm when accelerating but doesn't overheat. Could this be related to my transmission at all? If not what can I check to see why it blew the seal and how do I get her rolling again?
