BLUE LED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Around here, the cops don't seem to care much.....But then again, I am a little sneaky about the whole thing.....See, I have amber and red in the rear like you're supposed to....But in the front is blue, but you can't really see it unless you're right up on it and by then it's too late for most cops to care....Also, when I see a cop behind me, I put on my turn signal (if I'm turning) extra long to show em that I'm being a good little boy :) But if a cop's coming from in front of me, no turn signal....it has worked flawlessly up until this very day (knock on wood)......

Anyways....anyone actually order any Blue LEDs from eBay or anything?? I really want to know how they work if they work at all....

i'm telling you: cops love ricers. so many infactions, so little time. When i was interning for a local department, we'ed sit hidden behind a moving truck and rolled out after every light infraction.

i'm telling you: cops love ricers.

  Ahem. I sincerely hope that you're not referring to my truck when you're saying this. I have only 1 sticker (Superchips 2"x7") on my truck and it's simply because it was supplied with what I bought (and I like the silver, not white)......

Furthermore, you just illustrated my point. You guys sat behind moving trucks looking forward....seen from that angle, my truck has no infraction. My turn signals are amber and my brakes are red (in the rear). The blue in the front kinda blends in with the lights and is hard to distinguish unless you're right up on them or the turn signal is on.....I've gotten pulled over for having blue headlights (even though they were 50 state legal DOT approved PIAAs) and blue foglights (also superwhite and also DOT approved)......Took em to get inspected at the same police station that the guy was from the day after (without changing a thing) and they said they were fine....

Anyways, back to the point....Has anyone purchased 3157 style Blue LEDs for their truck?? If so how have they worked?? Also, could someone go to the site and tell me if they think it will be reputable??

Thanks guys....

Don't you hate driving around with a paranoia that a cop could easily pull you over? I get paranoid because I have clears up front, and I have amber bulbs!

I have never heard of clears not being street legal with amber bulbs, super whites are a different story ;)

I no longer have black outs, I have clears. I am aware that they are illegal, but cops are WAY more lenient towards blackouts than they are to clears.

WHHHHYYYYY!!!! That has NEVER made ANY sense to me! Like...with clear outs...while they do not have a DOT approved Red Reflector (which is why they are illegal - at least thats why the back clear outs are) they do have a white reflector.....and if you have colored bulbs in them...they actually are brighter than my old taillights...but to get back...black outs...which cops could care less about around here...BLOCK OUT WAY MORE LIGHT....and you can see the reflector when they are on!!

I just don't understand when i see a cop pull over a guy with clearouts on, and then some guy with black outs...drives by..and the cop dosen't even think twice!

I guess its cuase all the cops hate me around here :)

if anyone wants to know what colorde bulbs to get that dont fade, look no further!!! me and my friend have dedicated our lives to finding the perfect blue bulbs in the world. ive probably spent more money on light bulbs than others do on a system. the reason bulbs like APC's fade, is because they are painted the color on the inside of the bulb, that paint melts and falls to the bottom of the bulb when the bulb gets hot (basically when you use it). how come factory yellow bulbs never fade??? because they are actual stained glass like in church than painted glass. you need to buy Toucan Industries Eurolight 1156s or 1157s.

it is impossible to match bulbs of different sizes as well. ive spent a lot of money on PIAA hyper whites in two different sizes for that corner parking light and then my turn signals, and they still dont match. its impossible. this is what ive done. toucan only makes 1157s not 3157s so i had to custom solder 1157s into my 3157 sockets. second, for that third parking light on the front corners, i just drilled a bigger hole and crammed in another 1157. its perfect, my front looks beautiful with all three bulbs on each side having the crispest nicest color blue and matching perfectly without ever fading (ive had them on for two full years now, not a hint of fading)

oh yea, also, because of the dark nature of blue bulbs, the duller filament in the 1157 is kind of dull and hard to see. i wired mine up so that the bright filaments are on all the time with the parking lights, then i built a circuit so that the high filament blinks OFF when the turn signal goes on.

blue turn signals are extremely illegal!!!!!! i can pretty much guarantee that if a cop is within eyeshot of my car at night, there is no question he is pulling me over (i also have lots of neons too though). you can try and do what i did, and i will let you in on my little secret. in each housing, i crammed the factory yellow bulb and the blue bulb. i wired up a circuit, and WOW, with the single flip of a switch in my cabin, i can switch my whole car from a blue UFO into grandmas factory bingo car! all i need to do is find out how to switch my clear tail lights to factory with a switch, any ideas??
