BlueCruze vs Adaptive Cruze with Lane Center Sensor

Is the hardware between models with bluecruze different than models with just ACC with lane centering? I'm not really interested in bluecruize (at least not for $700-$800/yr) but if the sensors are better / work better than ACC with lane centering I may go that way.

I have a '20 ST. The ACC with lane centering works very well. It has no issues staying with traffic, slowing itself to a stop etc. It will not do automatic lane changes.

HUGE improvement with Bluecruise over ACC with lane centering. ACC/Lane Centering is like a ping pong going side to side trying to stay in the lane. Bluecruise, there is no ping pong effect.. it's laser focused and just stays dead straight in the lane.

Are you sure you meant 'Lane Keeping' when referring to the "ping pong" effect? I don't use either but noticed the swaying back and forth when I tried the Lane Keeping to see how it worked. 'Lane Centering' was a little better.

I've owned a 2020 Explorer, a 2021 F-150 and now a 2023 Explorer, all with Lane Centering and use it all the time. It will keep you in lane if a little distracted. It is a good driving aid. Am I willing to put a weighted bag on the steering wheel to replace my hand, as some do, NO. Between the vehicles with a combined mileage of about 75K, the system on the F-150, twice tried to make a abrupt move that could have resulted in...had I not caught it. Personally, I am not ready for Bluecruze.

Let me add some stuff, My opinion. The Lane Centering is set up for interstate driving at posted speed, over speed by 10+ mph and the software tends to loose it in tighter curves. This is especially true on secondary roads. The speed sign recognizing system is much more annoying. It picks up the speed signs in the weigh stations (45mph) slams on the brakes and pisses off the person following.

I drove a vehicle that had lane centering keeping whatever you call it without knowing it was installed or activated. While driving on the highway I saw a pot hole coming up and went to steer avoiding it, the wheel was fighting me with the truck starting to yaw back and forth on a curve, same goes for road debris. I do not like it.

I have turned both features OFF on mine.

Bluecruise is far superior. It also warns you as sharp curves approach to put your hands on the wheel.
