It seems that everytime someone mentions anything about cutting or altering the frame, people automatically think it's unsafe and weakens it, which is simply not true.

Again, if done right frame mods are fine. You have to know the rules for modifications in order to do it right. I have personally seen an S-10 with a bolt in notch break in half. The guys solution was to buy a bolt in step notch, which also broke. I know you guys aren't trying to say it's not possible to brake a frame with bolt in mods, but I would still suggest doing it the right way and doing a full weld in. I guess I didn't explain myself well enough when I said the bolt ins are junk. They are only junk when you don't do some welding after its bolted in.
