Does any one know a good place to order the Blocks for a body lift cheap. I have a 3" body lift and I dont like having that much body lift. So I want to lower the body lift to a level I like. I am thinking 1"-1.5"s

I did think about cutting my 3" blocks down but would hate to mess it up and need to buy a kit.

I have a performance accessories 2" body lift and have thought about doing the same thing. 2" is still too high, but I need a little extra clearance after my engine / trans. swap. I couldn't find a 1" body lift.

Mine are made of a composite material and should cut down easily with a good saw and a jig setup. I am considering cutting them down to 1" (1/2" off each side to preserve the center rib).

I figure with the 1" lift I won't have to use any of the bumper or steering shaft adjustments. (I didn't need to use the steering shaft lengthening shaft on the 2" lift).

Yeah im with morrisey i think hockeypucks are your best bet.

I heard that hockey pucks can end up breaking apart after a while.

Guy I could not agree more. I did not install this Body lift I bought the Truck with it installed. But I got greedy with tire size.

depending on what material they were made out of, i would just cut them down to a point where i liked them... remember to measure 2x cut 1x and also start larger and then reduce... you cant add height if you already cut it off

or you could do my personal favorite a 4x4 lift. ive heard pressure treated lumber works real good :D

I found a guy today that will make me some 1.5" he said he has made some before for people that worked very well. They will be a combo of Rubber and Metal.

That would make for a ride as harsh as a *eep Wrangler...

The bushings are responsible for the vibration dampening and are not part of the lift block.

Custom blocks ought to work just fine provided they are of reasonable quality.

Remember that the lift block itself is not a cushion, and should not be soft. Again, the dampening is provided by the bushing, which is rubber or neoprene.

I would not recomend any degradable lift block such as wood or hockey pucks. Wood will have a very limited life span, possibly useful for trial and error to determine the right height, but not a permanent solution.

Hockey pucks are made out of pretty low quality rubber and degrade quite quickly. They have a limited life span, it doesn't take a lot of pressure to destroy one. My son can take a chunk out of puck when his slap shot hits the goal post. The constant pressure and friction under the body would be a disaster.

As Jim said...
measure twice, cut once.
Start tall and work down.

Kris, just Cut your blocks down to 1 inch and go with perrys fenders and you dont need to worry about tire problems

Ryan

I would rather cut my Fenders then go with perrys fender because of the hugh flair they make.

It is not the Fenders I am worried about. once the suspention lift is done I might would rub the fire wall with out at least a small body lift. I have cut a large amount out already I just dont want to cut into the floor board yet(I cant weld yet).
