just out of sheer curiosity, has anyone blocked the back of their explorer/ranger? personally i would never do it. but i haven't seen much talk about it on here so figured i'd take matters into my own hands.

There are people who block there explorers to lower them, since they are spring under axle.

Some of the larger 4x4 rangers come with small blocks stock. At least my sisters 97 did.

I have seen several Explorers with blocks in the rear. It's really not that uncommon. The worst part is excessive spring wrap.

Blocks should never be used in the front. That's why they have a bad rep. People used them in the front and crashed:eek:

i dont like blocks, i have seen too many off road mishaps where the blocks spit out and peoples tires shred on the fenders

yeah, ive seen some nasty things with them on the trails, which is why i dont recommend them. man i completely forgot the rear was spring under. thanks fellas for your 2 cents! my mind has one less thing to wonder about.

my buddy used blocks on the back of his rig after he did an soa, get as thick tubing as you can. Same thing as jimbo said, the blocks split. He remade them with way thicker gauge steel tubing, i believe 1/2 inch walls and he hasnt had a problem yet and he drives hard. its cheap and it rides cheap, you can definetley feel the difference.

no doubt. you can practically feel ever cigarette butt you run over.
