Does anyone else have Borla Stainless on their second gen OHV V6? I drive a short distance to work (6 miles) and am going to need new exhaust before the snow flies this year. Everyone else I work with that commutes a short distance reccomends stainless.

How loud is it compared to the OEM? I want something throaty and a bit loud, but not so bad that I'll get dirty looks dropping the kids at school. OK I want something loud-

How hard is it to install? I have a lot of tools and a lot of time -

thanks for your input.

I got the Gibson Stainless Swept Side. I like it a lot. Nice and mellow tone but enough to turn heads or make a nice loud exhaust at WOT.

Borla is nice. Better for High RPMs and Gibson better for Low RPM and Torque

Borla is supposed to be the best exhaust you can buy. They invented the cat-back system, they ought to be. :)

I had one on my '95 and absolutely loved it. I compared the sound with a few other systems on some of the Explorer runs I went to, and honestly think the Borla sounds better. (my girlfriend agreed)

Installation is a snap if you have everything ready. Here's a link with instructions from my install:

I had Borla cat back on my 97 Ranger with the 4.0 OHC. Looked and sounded nice. The only complaint I had was that it was not as throaty and deep sounding. Still loved it though.

I thought the borla is quite quiet so If your looking to stand out...I don't know that you will be very happy with it.
