What is the recomended cubic ft for the subs? Are you using two different subs? Do you want a sealed or ported box?

We need more info so we can help. The more the better:thumbsup:
 






im putting in a single pioneer premier ts-w5102spl

specs:
6000W Competition Class SPL dual voice coil subwoofer for professional use
Ohm Rating: 1 or 4 Ohm
Frequency Response: 18 – 2,000 Hz
Lowest Resonance Frequency: (Fs) 30 Hz

and a t3001 rockford fosgate bd amp specs:
3000 watt class bd mono amplifier 1000x1 @ 4 ohms, 2000x1 @ 2 ohms, 3000x1@ 1 ohm, variable 32-250Hz LP 24dB/Octave Butterworth crossover, 12dB/Octave Infrasonic filter @ 27 Hz, RCA inputs, RCA outputs, MasterSync and bdSync capability, 0/180 Phase control, cast aluminum heatsink, military spec PCB, 1/0 AWG power/ground connectors with built in ANL fusing, Intelligent thermal management, and variable 35-70Hz

thats all the info i could find. its going in m 94 xlt im going with ported because it was recommended to me. i will also be running a cap but i dont know wat kind yet and im beefing up my alternator and putting in a red top any advice on the box type and or specs would be greatly apreciated
 






Generally: Ported gets louder but not as crisp and accurate; Sealed enclosures have more accurate thump - but requires more amp power. With your amp choice, you should have sufficient. Thats a subtantial sized sealed box already for 42 liters. I suspect a ported to be much bigger. (Do you want to retain your cargo space?)

You should also consider other factors. Im assuming that since you want to go this route with your selection of amp and sub you really want to be LOUD. Make sure that you dont get unwanted resonance and vibration from body panels. Consider doing a lot of sound insulation. Your installation wont be any better than a cheaper setup if your body panels are rattling.

If you intend to go pro and compete, I suggest you read up a lot more and do additional research. This will save you a lot of time, money and frustration

Personally, I would drop the cap. I think its more of a bandaid. - just my 2cents
