I just replaced the brake pads on all 4 corners of the Explorer. It pulls to the right really bad when driving and has for a while. When changing the pads, the ones on the right side were wore down much more than the left and those wheels had a lot more brake dust on them. Would this be because the vehicle pulls to the right so bad that when it stops more of the force is on that side or could I maybe have a bad caliper? It pulls to the right all of the time, not just when braking and there is no odd noises when driving.

thanks in advance

If the pads on one side were more worn down than the other side, then chances are you have a bad caliper. More than likely your passenger side caliper is sticking. I'd suggest getting a new one. Just make sure you bleed the system out properly after changing the caliper.

Can I take it apart and fix it or should I just get a new one? If I can take it apart what all is involved?

I'd just get a new/rebuilt one from the parts store. Your looking at $42 or after the $50 core or whatever they charge. You simply give them your old caliper and it'll be $42 or so.. If you don't they will charge you $42 or so plus a core fee which will be returned once you give the core back.

something I thought of, could it be the passenger side sticking or could the driver side not be clamping forcing the other side to do all the work? Is there a way to check them to see whats happening?
