Hello, my 1999 Ford Explorer Sport 2 Door had the right front side grinding pretty bad. I bought new pads and rotors for the front. I checked the brake fluid before I left to get it fixed. I drove a mile to a friends house. The grinding stopped but the pedal went all the way to the floor.

He changed the pads and rotors, which were horribly gone on the passenger side. Pop the hood and stupid me had forgotten to put on the cap on the master cylinder.

Brake pedal is still much, much softer than it should be. We didn't bleed the brakes cause we didn't open any lines.

Any ideas for help? Really appreciate it.....

Bleed the brakes, do all 4 corners.
Brake fluid is hydroscopic (absorbs moisture) which causes corrosion and poor performance. It's always a good idea to throughly bleed (flush) your brake system every time you change the pads.
