- 2002 Explorer Eddie Bauer
Hello I could really use some help here. I'm new to this site and I thought for sure someone here knows the answer.
I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer 4.6L 4wd with about 190,000 miles. The brake mil (not the abs) has been coming on intermittently and I'm getting a low brake fluid notification. I have checked the brake fluid and I can assure you that it is not low. Upon checking the fluid I had noticed that the brake fluid float was stuck in the lowered position and when I pried it free it floated to the surface the mil went off and no more notifications but a few weeks later the mil came back on even though the float was floating just as it was intended to. So I replaced the reservoir, it came with a new float and black sensor that clips into the lower portion of the reservoir between the two fluid ports I was thinking something was wrong with the sensor but nothing changed regarding the mil it's still on. When I manually depress the float up and down the mil goes off and on.
Does anybody know what would be causing this or how I can fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
